“Obama Leadership: What can We Learn as Managers and as People”, (2009, Franco Angeli) by Federico Mioni and Marco Rotondi analyzes for the first time, the actions and the path taken by Obama from a managerial and personal point of view to offer an example of what constitutes a successful leader. In drawing on the example of Barack Obama’s victory and the strong, positive response of the American people, the authors analyze Obama’s strategies, decisions, challenges, and behaviors to reveal his leadership style.

The book details the fundamental keys to successful leadership, which is dependent upon being a leader to one’s self and learning to value one’s innate strengths. Being a leader to others involves the ability of drawing out the best in others and helping them grow, while building trust, harmony, and creating positive results. Being a successful leader to one’s self and to others involves knowing how to embrace both roles, while having the courage to go first and the faith to trust that others will follow.
